Overview

Events are judged on the day and decided weeks earlier. The queue at the door on Tuesday morning was created by a registration list kept in a spreadsheet. The half-empty afternoon session was created by a reminder nobody sent. And the leads that never got followed up were lost the moment the attendee list was exported and emailed round.

Fidsor Events treats an event as an operation with a before, a during and an after, rather than as a page with a form on it.

The door is where events are judged

Attendees form their first impression in the first ninety seconds, and it is almost always about the queue. QR codes issued with the confirmation, scanned at the door, with badges printing as people arrive, is the difference between a welcome and a bottleneck. It works without internet because the venue's wifi will, at some point, let you down.

Attendees are people, not a list

Every registration resolves to a person in your system — an existing customer or a new contact — carrying which event they came to, which sessions they sat in, and what they said afterwards. That is what makes the second event easier than the first: you can invite the people who came last time, see who came twice, and stop inviting the ones who never open anything.

The follow-up that pays for the event

Most events are measured on attendance, which is the easiest number and the least useful. What matters is what happened next: how many attendees became opportunities, what the pipeline from the room was worth, and whether the cost per attendee was justified. Because registrations become real records, that question has an answer rather than an anecdote.

How it works

From a first enquiry to a repeat customer, without leaving the suite.

  1. 1PlanSet the date, venue, capacity, ticket types and agenda, with the budget you are working to.
  2. 2PublishA registration page goes live in both languages, with the form fields you actually need.
  3. 3RegisterPeople book and pay online, groups register together, and a full event opens a waitlist.
  4. 4RemindConfirmations go out immediately and reminders before the day, which is what fills the room.
  5. 5RunScan QR codes at the door, print badges, and track attendance by session as well as by event.
  6. 6Follow upSend the survey, issue certificates, and pass attendees to sales as real, attributed leads.

Frequently asked questions

Can we run both paid and free events?Yes. Ticket types are defined per event, so one event can offer a paid delegate ticket, a free community ticket and an invite-only speaker ticket at once. Paid tickets take payment online; free ones still register properly so you know who is coming.
How does check-in work on the day?Every registration carries a QR code sent with the confirmation. Scanning it at the door with a phone or scanner checks the attendee in, prints a badge if you use them, and flags duplicates or cancelled tickets instantly. It works offline and syncs when the connection returns, because venue wifi cannot be trusted.
Can we cap attendance and run a waitlist?Capacity is set per event and per session, and once it is reached registration moves to a waitlist automatically. When someone cancels, the next person on the list is offered the place with a time limit before it passes on — so cancellations refill instead of becoming empty chairs.
Do attendees become leads and customers?Yes, and this is where events usually leak value. Every registration matches to an existing customer or creates a new contact, with the event, ticket type and sessions attended recorded on it. Sales follow up against a real record rather than a spreadsheet emailed round the week after.
Can events have multiple sessions and tracks?Full agendas are supported — parallel tracks, rooms, speakers, session capacities and per-session registration. Attendance can be scanned at session level too, which is what tells you which topics were worth repeating and which quietly emptied the room.
Can we issue certificates for training events?Certificates generate from attendance, so only people who actually attended receive one, optionally requiring a pass mark on an assessment. They are issued in the attendee's language and recorded against the person, which matters when the certificate is a compliance requirement rather than a souvenir.
